About San Luis Bay Inn
Overlooking the Pacific Ocean and tucked along the bay just below the Big Sur Coastline, the resort overlooks the pristine sand of Avila Beach, making this a true seaside escape or getaway. You can relax in the room or take in those picturesque views by lounging alongside the pool. In fact, you can take a dip day or night because both the swimming pool and hot tub are outdoor and heated. If you are truly ready to relax, get your appointments in order for your spa services. If you aren't getting enough of a workout from your outdoor adventures, you can always spend time in the fitness room.
Socialize with family or friends, old or new, by hanging out at the BBQ area. Of course, if the heat has worn you out or you just want to take advantage of your accommodations, you can take a seat on the terrace or balcony. All accommodations offer a fully equipped kitchen, in case you want to bring the socializing to your room in the form of a dinner function.
Away from the Inn
You'll be located less than an hour from Hearst Castle and famous wineries, or you can take advantage of any of the activities available to revel in the great outdoors. Hiking, biking, swimming, boating, fishing, jet skis and so much more can be arranged by using the Concierge available at the Inn.

You Need To Know
Prior to checking in:
- Smoking Policy: All guest suites are non-smoking. Smoking products of any kind, including, but not limited to, any electronic smoking devices, are not permitted. Please understand that you will be charged a cleaning fine of $500 as a result of any damage caused by smoking inside guest suites.
- Pets are not permitted. This is strictly enforced, with the exception of working Service Animals as defined by the ADA. Certified Support and Therapy Animals are not allowed.
When checking in:
Hotel Guests and Exchange Reservations:
- At time of check-in, a valid government-issued photo identification is required that must match the guest name under which the reservation was made. A credit card for a $200 security deposit and a daily $30 plus tax resort charge will also be required (cash is not an acceptable form of deposit). Daily resort charge will be added to the room rate and includes: guest internet access; self-parking (one vehicle); barbecue equipment; board games; garden games including: cornhole; bocce ball; giant chess; game room; sports equipment: tennis, pickle-ball, volleyball; lobby coffee and tea station.
- Please contact the resort prior to arrival if you anticipate your arrival time would be later than midnight (resort local time). Arrivals after midnight may be subject to cancellation.
Owner Weeks and Member Points Booking:
- At time of check-in, a valid government-issued photo identification is required that must match the guest name under which the reservation was made. A credit card will also be required as a security deposit (cash is not an acceptable form of deposit). Resort charge* will be waived when staying on your owner week or member point reservations. A resort charge of $30 plus tax per night will be added to the reservation if the owner or member of THE Club is checking in on a rental reservation.
